Co-Founder & Head Chef
Marco Delgado
With 18 years in professional kitchens across Italy and California, Marco brings old-world technique and West Coast creativity to every pie he crafts.
Born in Los Angeles, built on the belief that great pizza is about more than toppings — it's about people, community, and craft.
Mod Pizza started in 2014 with a simple idea: let people build their own perfect pizza at an honest price. Founded by two food-loving Angelenos who believed in the power of fresh ingredients and personal expression, we set up shop on Venice Blvd. and never looked back.
Our handcrafted approach means every pie is assembled right in front of you, loaded with whatever you love, and fired in our stone deck oven in just minutes. There are no rules here — pile it on, mix flavors, go vegan, go classic. This is your pizza.
Over the years we've served tens of thousands of pizzas and built a community of regulars who feel like family. That relationship — between us, our team, and our guests — is what drives everything we do.
Every pizza we make is guided by three commitments — to our guests, to our team, and to our community.
We believe the best pizza takes intention. From hand-stretched dough made fresh daily to toppings sourced from trusted local suppliers, we never cut corners to cut costs.
Our team isn't just staff — they're the heart of Mod Pizza. We invest in fair wages, flexible schedules, and growth opportunities because we know that happy employees make for happy guests.
Venice Blvd. isn't just our address — it's our home. We partner with local farms, support neighborhood events, and donate meals to families in need every month.
We prep our dough, sauces, and toppings daily. If it isn't fresh, it doesn't go on your pizza. Full stop.
We greet every guest like a regular — warm, unhurried, and genuinely interested in making their visit memorable.
Great pizza should be accessible to everyone. We proudly offer vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-sensitive options on every visit.
We taste, tweak, and refine constantly. Every season brings new ingredients, and every guest review shapes how we grow.
From a single location on Venice Blvd. to an LA institution — here's how we got here.
Mod Pizza opens its doors at 8985 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles. The menu is simple: one size, unlimited toppings, stone-fired in 5 minutes. Lines form on day one.
We expanded our team to 25 full-time staff and introduced our first seasonal menu — the Summer Harvest collection featuring local heirloom tomatoes and fresh basil.
Mod Pizza launches a fully vegan menu tier, including house-made cashew mozzarella and a plant-based pepperoni. Featured in Los Angeles Magazine's "Best New Eats."
During the pandemic, we pivoted to contactless pickup and delivery while launching our "Feed the Frontline" initiative, donating over 3,000 pizzas to healthcare workers across LA.
A complete menu overhaul introduced signature craft pies, premium toppings, and our beloved garlic knot bundles. Online ordering launched to rave reviews.
Named "Best Pizza in Los Angeles" at the LA Food Awards. We celebrated by offering a free pizza to every guest who visited that weekend — our biggest single-day service ever.
Every pizza starts with a person. These are the passionate individuals who make Mod Pizza what it is.
